As well as a place of worship, the church has always been a part of the local community. On this page we are happy to offer a platform to help share local community events.
Hiroshima 6th August
This day marks the anniversary of the first ever dropping of an atomic bomb on a civillian population, at Hiroshima in Japan. Each year an evening memorial service is held on 6th August at the Peace Pagoda, near Willen's north lake. We pray for the souls lost and the haunting memories of the five Hiroshima survivors still alive today, and those of Nagasaki - hit by the dropping of a second atomic bomb just days later, on August 9th.
